Hilton Head Island: Travel Diary #2

Hey friends! It’s been so so long since I posted and I thought this was a perfect post to get back into the groove with. This summer I was invited to go to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, with two of my best friends and family! It was my first time visiting both the Island and SC, and it was absolutely amazing!

DAY 1: Saturday, June 23

At 3 am on Saturday morning, we were all up and loaded up in the car, ready to get on the road! My friends and I slept for almost the entire first half of the car ride, and only woke up for breakfast at IHOP (or IHOB??).

We arrived on the island around 1 in the afternoon, and promptly went to find somewhere to eat. We decided on The Salty Dog Cafe, which I had heard tons about but had never been.

I ordered the fried shrimp po-boy with a side of fresh fruit, and it was absolutely delicious!! The Salty Dog has such a great atmosphere, it’s so much fun to eat yummy food sitting right on the water! That night when we checked into the house, we enjoyed exploring all the rooms and relaxing in the pool.

DAY 2: Sunday, June 24

On Sunday, we got to see the beach for the first time, and of course take plenty of pictures! It was a beautiful day, with plenty of sun and no crowds!

My friend Riley and her aunt have a tradition of baking every year at the beach, so when we got back to the house, we made some super yummy vanilla cupcakes with beachy blue icing.

DAY 3: Monday, June 25

Monday was a shopping day! We hit up the Tanger Outlets of Hilton Head Island, and we all scored some pretty cute finds!

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to hit the beach that day, but we enjoyed hanging out at the house and playing plenty of games!

DAY 4: Tuesday, June 26

On our final day, we did our best to make the most of our time! During the day, we spent some quality time on the sand and in the waves, and did our best not to get too burnt😉 we also, of course, took some more pics!

After our suits had just about filled up with sand, we headed back to the house to rinse off and enjoy some quality pool time with Nessie.

Finally, to finish out an awesome vacation, that night we attended the HarbourFest at Shelter Cove to souvenir shop, enjoy some Italian ice and live music, and watch some fireworks. It was the perfect finale to the vacay!

My first visit to Hilton Head was absolutely amazing, and I definitely hope I can make it back again! It was so much fun to check another state off my travel bucket list! Thank you guys so much for reading, and stay tuned for more fun posts!

stay sweet, Sophia ❤
