Hi friends!! I’m so very excited about this post! Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year and anybody who knows me personally will be able to second that.
This year is a little different for a lot of people, and you may not be able to celebrate the holidays in the same way you usually do. This post is a list of activities for every day in December, and you can follow along with me on my Instagram to see how I’m celebrating each day so that we can celebrate together!

Small Town Sophia’s 25 Days of Christmas Cheer:
December 1st: Make and send out homemade Christmas cards!
December 2nd: Do some Christmas shopping at a small business!
December 3rd: DIY ornaments for the tree!
December 4th: Try making homemade marshmallows! I use this recipe, and my family and friends always love how they turn out.
December 5th: Set up a hot chocolate bar! Bonus points if you use your homemade marshmallows from yesterday 🙂
December 6th: Light the second candle in your advent wreath!
December 7th: Whether for gifts or for your own enjoyment, make up some mulling spice mix! I use cinnamon sticks, star anise, whole cloves, and sometimes dried orange peel when making mine.
December 8th: Enjoy some classic Christmas music and hot drinks! You could have hot chocolate, tea, or cider (use that mulling mix!)
December 9th: Stop by your local coffee shop and try a holiday drink!
December 10th: Set up your nativity scene!
December 11th: Get cozy and watch your favorite holiday movie!
December 12th: Decorate a gingerbread house!
December 13th: Spread some holiday cheer by smiling at everyone you see. In the words of Buddy the Elf: “I just like to smile, smiling my favorite!”
December 14th: Make your own holiday wreath! You could use greenery, ornaments, candy canes, or anything else you can find
December 15th: Make a Christmas charcuterie board! Pinterest has great inspiration for these!
December 16th: Set up a Christmas wrapping station and wrap up your gifts!
December 17th: Dry citrus slices for garlands or ornaments. You can find simple instructions here
December 18th: Make up some bird seed treats and decorate a tree for the birds! My family does this every year. An easy trick is to just cover bagels in peanut butter and bird seed. The birds love it!
December 19th: Spread Christmas cheer with some holiday messages! Text your friends, paint rocks and hide them, or bring some chalk to a sidewalk in your town!
December 20th: Find some Christmas light displays to look at! Whether you have a local light exhibit near you or you just drive through your neighborhood, this is one of my favorite ways to get ready for Christmas.
December 21st: Make a donation. Things like goodwill, food banks, or animal shelters are great places to start.
December 22nd: Bake and decorate Christmas cookies!
December 23rd: Deliver fresh baked goods to friends, neighbors, or family. You can do porch drop off to be super safe!
December 24th: Read a childhood favorite Christmas book.
December 25th: Merry Christmas! Enjoy the holiday cheer and time with your family.
